Doc and Clara left Kaneʻohe for Kansas on November 10th. They zoomed-in, three days later, for a celebration hosted by some of the people and organizations they most impacted: Benton Pang, Michael Nahoʻopiʻi, Lehuakona Isaacs, Steve Montgomery, Sigrid Southworth, Beth Anderson, and Terry Ogawa; Kamehameha's Hui Lama, ʻAhahui Malama i ka Lokahi, the Church of the Crossroads, and the Kailua Hawaiian Civic Club. KHCC honored our hulu kupuna, Doc and Clara, with a mele inoa composed by Kihei and choreographed by Mapuana. It ends with: "Mapunapuna mai ana ke aloha / Mai oʻu hulu kupuna mai no / I ola ai na kini o Kailua -- Love pours sweetly forth / From my cherished hulu kupuna / Giving life to Kailua's people."
