HMI is happily home from Hilo after another great Merrie Monarch. Although we didnʻt do hula for Kailua this year, we certainly represented Kailua and KHCC quite well. Every last person in the photo above (taken by the awesome Nicholas Tomasello) is closely affiliated with our club, either as an officer, member, scholarship recipient, ally, or combination thereof. Not too shabby, if we do say so ourselves. Speaking of not too shabby: fifth place tie in kahiko; third place in ʻauana, both for mele hula honoring Lahaina and (in ʻauana) our own Aunty Irmgard Aluli.
